MoneyPy is a Mac app for budgeting, tracking your accounts and seeing the bigger picture of your finances. Keep your checking, savings, cards, loans and investments in one place, plan with budgets and savings funds, and spot what changed from your normal month.

Your books live in a single file on your Mac that you own. There is no account to create, nothing is uploaded, and there is no tracking.

What you can do

See the big picture: Monthly income and spending, net cash flow and your net worth over time, for any range you choose.
Spot what changed: Compare this month with your normal one, find the categories that moved, and discover subscriptions you pay every month.
Budget your way: Plan by category, see how you are pacing, and set money aside for bigger goals with savings funds.
Track every account: A full register for each account with split transactions, duplicate and move entries, and fast search with bulk edits.
Bring your transactions in: Import bank statements (QFX, OFX, QIF or CSV), with your own rules to name and categorize entries and duplicate detection so nothing is counted twice. Optionally connect your banks through your own SimpleFIN account.
Reconcile with confidence: Check an account against a bank statement and mark everything cleared up to the statement date in one step.
Loans and mortgages: Payment schedules, how extra principal changes your payoff, and your remaining balance.
Investments: Holdings, value and performance for your brokerage and retirement accounts.
Taxes and scheduled payments: Estimate what you owe, plan quarterly payments, and keep recurring bills on schedule.
More than one currency: Optional. Give each account its own currency, and MoneyPy keeps daily exchange rates you can review and correct. If you use one currency, you never see any of it.
Safe to experiment: Automatic restore points let you roll back a change, and you can export your data at any time.
Optional AI assistant: Ask questions about your finances using your own AI provider key. It is off until you set it up.
